With the next Senedd election nearing, it is imperative that we now consider how animal welfare can be prioritised by the next Welsh Government, Senedd and political parties across Wales.
Significant progress in animal welfare has been made in Wales over the last Senedd term, including bans of the use of snares and glue traps, and the introduction of mandatory CCTV in abattoirs.
The newly expanded Senedd following the 2026 election could see even more progress made, with our manifesto below acting as a blueprint for political parties as to how this could be achieved.
